Creamy inside, golden outside — the taste of Portugal in every bite! Let’s make the iconic Portuguese Custard Tart — easy, rich, and absolutely irresistible. 💛
🧂 Ingredients:
200 g sugar
1 small coffee spoon of cinnamon
70 g all-purpose flour
Zest of 1 lemon
250 ml milk
500 ml heavy cream
6 egg yolks
1 sheet puff pastry (with its baking paper)
👩🍳 How to Make It
- In a bowl, whisk together sugar, cinnamon, flour, and lemon zest.
- Slowly add milk and cream, whisking until smooth.
- Pour the mix into a saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the cream thickens.
- Remove from heat and stir in the egg yolks until silky and glossy.
- Line a tart pan with puff pastry, keeping the paper underneath, and prick the bottom with a fork.
- Pour in the custard mixture and bake at 200°C (390°F) until golden and slightly caramelized on top.
✨ Tip: Best served warm with a sprinkle of cinnamon or powdered sugar — just like in Lisbon cafés!
